Movies on the Move   

Project: 'The Adventures of T-Bot '  Funder: TSB  Media: GPS-Enabled Mobile Devices 

Background:  

WÖNKY  has carried out R&D into the creation of location based film experiences having secured funding from the Technology Strategy Board.  The research for this innovative new film genre was carried out in conjunction with Hewlett-Packard and the Pervasive Media Studio in Bristol. 

Movies on the Move: 

Why sit back and watch a film when you could walk onto a virtual film set, select a scene, apply a film genre, play a character of your choice or even direct your own film?  'Movies on the Move' are compelling interactive location-based film experiences that viewers can watch on handheld devices and control as they move around outdoor spaces or landmarks.  This is a new genre of film offering an immersive mixed reality experience where the film happens around you and in reaction to you and your physical surroundings.  Viewers can become as much a part of the films as the digital content.

Technology:         

WÖNKY have worked in conjunction with Hewlett-Packard, combining our 2D & 3D animation with HP Lab's cutting edge computing research into software and mobile technology.

Outcome:
