Event: Contentertainment     Festival: Encounters International Short Film Festival

Background:  

WÖNKY devised, organises and chairs Contentertainment, a new media strand at the Encounters International Short Film Festival.  The event looks at the latest innovative ways in which short films are used to enagage digital audiences.

Brief: 

To encourage a younger and more diverse audience to attend the film festival.

Solution:         

A variety of inspirational speakers have explored digital topics ranging from virals to virtual worlds through talks, live demonstrations and showcasing upcoming work.  Speakers have included directors (Joel Veitch), broadcasters (Nickelodeon), authors (Machinima for Dummies) and production companies (Aardman Animations, Rivers Run Red and Maverick). 

Outcome:         

Contentertainment has proved a popular event that has attracted a diverse audience over the past two years.
